چکیده

An analytical expression is derived for the cuto€ rigidity of cosmic rays arriving at a point in an arbitrary direction, when the main geomagnetic ®eld is approximated by that of an eccentric dipole. This expression is used to determine changes in geomagnetic cuto€s due to secular variation of the geomagnetic ®eld since 1835. E€ects of westward drift of the quadrupole ®eld and decrease in the e€ective dipole moment are seen in the isorigidity contours. On account of the immense computer time required to determine the cuto€ rigidities more accurately using the particle trajectory tracing technique, the present formulation may be useful in estimating the transmission factor of the geomagnetic ®eld in cosmic ray studies, modulation of cosmogenic isotope production by geomagnetic secular variation, and the contribution of geomagnetic ®eld variation to long term changes in climate through cosmic ray related modulation of the current ̄ow in the global electric circuit.

The secular variations of cosmic ray cutoff rigidities ,

Vertical rigidities of geomagnetic cutoff are obtained for world neutron monitor network with annual resolution for the period of 1950-2020 by the method of trajectory calculations with the model International Geomagnetic Reference Field. Results of the computations show the total decrease of the cut off rigidities in the majority points which is caused by a decrease of the total geomagnetic fi...

Geomagnetic Field Eect over Azimuth Anisotropy of Cosmic Rays via Study of Primary Particles

Geomagnetic field is a one of the candidates for creation of anisotropy in azimuth distribution of extensive air showers over the entered cosmic rays to the atmosphere. Here we present the question: Is there any azimuth anisotropy flux in the upper level of the atmosphere due to the geomagnetic field over the entered cosmic-rays? The obtained answer is: yes. This investigation showed an agreeme...

Regional cosmic ray induced ionization and geomagnetic field changes

Cosmic ray induced ionization (CRII) is an important factor of outer space influences on atmospheric properties. Variations of CRII are caused by two different processes – solar activity variations, which modulate the cosmic ray flux in interplanetary space, and changes of the geomagnetic field, which affects the cosmic ray access to Earth. Migration of the geomagnetic dipole axis may greatly a...

External forcing of the geomagnetic +eld? Implications for the cosmic ray .ux—climate variability

Data on the relation of past climate variations and changes in the geomagnetic +eld can contribute to the research on a cosmic ray–climate link. This paper presents a synthesis of geological and astrophysical results about the link of magnetic +eld variations and Earth’s climate and external forcing. On millennial timescales, geomagnetic intensity lows are apparently in phase with times of low ...

Cosmic ray variations of solar origin in relation to human physiological state during the December 2006 solar extreme events

There is an increasing amount of evidence linking biological effects to solar and geomagnetic disturbances. A series of studies is published referring to the changes in human physiological responses at different levels of geomagnetic activity. In this study, the possible relation between the daily variations of cosmic ray intensity, measured by the Neutron Monitor at the Cosmic Ray Station of t...
